Ira Carty is the founding Pastor for Next Dimension Ministries which is a new Church plant within the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Canada; an intercultural, intergenerational Church in Scarborough.
Although Ira has operated within the pastoral office for the past eight years, his primary gift is that of an evangelist. His passion and love for Christ is the driving force within his life, which began at the tender age of six. At the age of 18, he fully devoted his life purposes to the will of God, pledging to go in pursuit of that which he then realized he was called to. His passion for evangelism and missions has taken him to such places as Kenya, Korea, USA and
the Caribbean bringing the ministry of hope, which transformed his life at age six. His desire and life goal is simply to be that pen in God’s hand, as He writes the pages of history in his generation and the one following
In 2000, he left Antigua and Barbuda (his native country) after working for several years as a Technical Assistant for the government at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Commerce. This was in fulfillment of God's call, to pursue theological Studies. He graduated from Tyndale University College with a B.A (majoring in Religious Studies) and is presently enrolled at the Seminary.
Within his final year of Tyndale, he sensed a strong call of God to move into Church planting ministry and was looking at connecting with the Missionary Church, however this was not to be as the time and season was not right. After graduating he was approached by the Wesley Chapel Free Methodist Church regarding a present pastoral vacancy. After going through the interview process and much prayer he accepted the position and served for two years as the Associate Pastor at Wesley Chapel Free Methodist Church (2005-2007).
At the dawn of 2008 after much wrestling with God and a “backside of the desert type experienced” the vision of Next Dimension Ministries was born. The birth was the ongoing result of a vision that God had been growing in his heart over the years in "Seeing the Nations worship Christ" together in reconciled relationship. He looked around at the Urban Center to which God had called him and could not help to see the nations in which God had brought right at our doorstep. He began to dream God’s reality, which John saw and documented in Revelation 7 and felt a need to capture it and see it realized within the context of a community. On June 1st 2008 the ministry was launched at the Bridlewood Park Community Church where we now meet on Sunday at 7:30pm nightly.
Committed to God’s Mission in “Seeing the Nations worship Christ” we will work towards bringing about the healing to the nations as we bridge the gap amongst race, gender and generations. (Revelations 7:9-10)
